Wrapping up the Comic Con coverage from this year is another upcoming Cars Toon, Heavy Metal Mater. I think it is safe to say Mattel is going to push these pretty hard. Let’s hope they can actually make it to stores, as many of the others from this line haven’t seen great distribution.

Monster Truck Mater
The new Cars Toon “Monster Truck Mater” will premiere on the Disney Channel on July 30th at 9:30 PM (via Pixar Planet.) It is directed by John Lasseter himself. Here is the official synopsis.
Mater is a professional wrestler who works his way up the ranks from amateur to World Champion Monster Truck Wrestler, wrestling all kinds of characters along the way. When faced with his biggest opponent yet, Mater tags in his “tag team partner,” Frightening McMean.
Set your DVR’s now because this is sure to be another hilarious short! Also, there are toys on the way, which you knew there would be. Watch the rest of the Cars Toons on the official Disney Cars YouTube Channel.

Continuing our look at the upcoming Final Lap Cars, here is Flo with Tray out now.

Final Lap Flo with Tray Carded
Flo with Tray is from the Flo’s V8 Cafe scene at the end of the Cars movie. This same car is a part of the new Flo’s V8 Cafe 5 pack with Hank Hallsum at Toys R Us now. There is also a lenticular 3 pack version and a single carded version.
Final Lap Flo with Tray is #148. Flo is showing up at Targets in the US now. Click here to search for Flo with Tray on eBay.

Here is a look at the upcoming Final Lap Artie carded out now.

Final Lap Artie Carded
Artie looks a lot like, could it be, Snot Rod maybe? More reuse. Something we will continue to see as Mattel finishes up the line.
Artie is #149. Here is Artie’s bio from the Pixar Wiki.
Artie started covering local sporting events back in Wilmington, Delaware, but caught the attention of Racing Sports Network executives with his ability to not just cover the race, but the story of the race as well. Artie likes to say, “If there’s a story out there, I’m just trying to cover it.
Good news, Final Lap Artie is part of the most recent series which is showing up at Targets in the US now. Click here to search for Artie on eBay.

Here is a look at the upcoming Final Lap Bert carded.

Final Lap Bert Carded
Notice the reuse here. Final Lap Bert appears to have the same sculpt as Final Lap Marty.
Bert is #147. Here is Bert’s bio from the Pixar Wiki.
Someday, when Bert finds a gallery that understands his abstract motion-blur photography, he’ll be recognized as the true artist he really is. In the meantime though, it’s his job as paparazzo that pays the bills. And yes paparazzo is the singular use for paparazzi, and yes it means oversize mosquito in Italian.
Good news, Final Lap Bert is part of the most recent series which is showing up at Targets in the US now. Click here to search for Bert on eBay.

Continuing our look at upcoming carded Final Lap Cars, here is a look at the upcoming Final Lap Matthew “True Blue” carded.

Matthew "True Blue" McCrew Carded
Matthew is #153. Here is Matthew’s bio from the Pixar Wiki.
Mathew “True Blue” McCrew has been a King fan from the first time he came off the production line. In fact, everything in Mathew’s house is painted King Blue, including the light bulbs. Because for Mathew, being a King fan isn’t reserved for race day, it’s a way of life.
Final Lap Matthew is only out overseas now, but hopefully will be in the US shortly. Click here to search for this on eBay.
